Our Daily Story
Meals are prepared in the kitchen of St. Peter’s Anglican Church in downtown Butler. For a small charge each client receives two meals (one hot & one cold) which are delivered Monday thru Friday, except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Each day, at about 11am, 24 volunteers go out in pairs (a driver and a deliverer) on 12 routes and deliver a hot, fresh meal and a bag lunch for supper for over 100 clients. The delivery provides a personal outreach to our neighbors on a daily basis. This keeps us alerted to any significant changes in their situation which may need to be attended to by family or medical personnel.
We are able to do this for three reasons:
(1)The generosity of the Butler community who support us financially
(2) The many volunteers who come together every day to help prepare, package and deliver the meals (using their own cars)
(3) The dedication of our small paid staff
